Obscura is Califorina Dreaming

You heard right the Obscura Wakeskate team will be rounding out its demo days series this week at Mission bay Aquatic Center. The event is happening on Friday the 19^th between 10 am and 2 pm. Come enjoy free riding on the new Obscura boards and getting instruction and life lessons form Obscura riders Danny Hampson, Aaron Reed, and Grant Roberts. Our friends at Mission Bay will be barbequing up some food and as with all the demo days Monster Energy Drinks will be on hand to keep you jazzed as you ride yourself silly. Obscura will be giving away lots of free swag so this is a day you definitely don’t want to miss. If you are under 18 you will need a parent or guardian to accompany you to sign the release form that allows you to ride or contact Mission Bay Aquatic Center to have a release form sent to you prior to the event. Well as I sit in the airport sniffling and tired I look back on this week and it was a definite highlight of all trips. Aaron was more motivated than ever and even Stefan did work daily. Me on the other hand being as lazy as I have been these last few months just tried to keep up and not complain to much about the frigid conditions. Dan came in just in time for the demo day which was a success. Good to see kids shredding the boards all day. But this upcoming week might just top the last week with Dan and Aaron coming into Cali. Look for the press release for the next demo day on friday coming out soon!

What a great week it has been so far, and Dan gets here today.  The fun is really about to start.

Obscura Coming to the Lone Star State

Yeeehaw!!!  Obscura wants to send you a Texas sized reminder that the Demo Days series is making its next stop at the Texas Ski Ranch in New Braunfels, Texas this Saturday from 10am to 5pm. We will have the full line of Obscura products for everyone to demo on TSR’s Little Bro cable. Obscura riders Aaron Reed, Danny Hampson, Grant Roberts and Stefan Schriewer will be on hand all day to give demos and share their infinitive wisdom of the wake with all. Chipotle will be giving out free Burritos and Monster will be keeping you juiced throughout the event. To make the day even more special TSR’s annual Freezeride event will be going on this weekend so there will be plenty of riding and fun happening all around as you demo the best products in the industry. If you are under 18 and don’t have a waiver on file with TSR you will need to bring your parent or legal guardian before you can immerse yourself in the sweet silent pull. Do to the presence of the Freezeride there will be a five dollar admittance fee to get into TSR but riding the Obscura product on the Little Bro will be free of charge. If you wish to charge the main cable lake TSR’s fees will apply. For those wishing to enter one of the many divisions freeze ride offers the fee is 65 dollars and will give you a three-day cable pass. Damn Grant, between your El Nino facts and that serene picture I can’t help but feel like a sense of maturity has come over you. Definitely your most refined blog post.  I couldn’t help but get a picture in my head of you writing that one. I imagined you sitting by the sea with a laptop and a coffee., waxing poetic while watching the waves roll in and stroking the chin hairs you’ve been growing out for months. Can you post an updated pic when you get a chance?

TEAM UPDATE:

Though my contact with the Obscura team has been minimal these days I still know it is my duty to post a team update every once in awhile.

Kyle Hyams- I saw him yesterday at the gas station across the street from his place of work. His BMW was looking pretty clean.

Grant Roberts- We had an awkward facebook chat or two in the last few months.

Aaron Reed- We talked on the phone a week or two ago.

Stefan Schreiwer- I told a story to a random guy at a bar the other night about Stefan.

Travis Doran- I hung out with George Daniels not too long ago.  I mean they are pretty similar.

Danny Hampson-  He stopped by my house after shopping at JCPenney the other day.

James Balzer- Balzer and I actually hung out and shot some photos! He’s been busy catching his dreams!

If my team updates continue to be this bad I might have to start blogging for the Mavens. For starters there is a bunch of them! Shelby, Melissa, Amber, Andrea, Barrett, Robi, Kara, Stef, Steph, Danni, Megan, and Taylor! They have sections for photos and videos over on their blog! Even though they don’t actually have any content in them, I’m still impressed.  Also ever since the clocks hit 2010 the sites seems to be acting haywire as I could have sworn there was a photo of Dan in a cat outfit on the site just yesterday.  Weird.  A cyber teardrop must’ve came and washed it away.

El Nino-a warm ocean current that flows along the equator from the date line and south off the coast of Ecuador at Christmas time.

This sweet little thing has given my state of California some real ups and downs this winter. It has blessed our coastline with one of the best winters of waves in decades but with that has come a blanket of clouds and rain preventing me from doing anything but playing xbox. I have become quite skilled at that atleast. Well it seems as if those storms are just following me as I take off for Texas today. It looks like we might get rained out a couple days but old man sun is gonna peak through atleast a few days and I know for one that Tex has been doing his homework and I could not be anymore stoked to hear that. Shaping up to be a good week and even better weekend with the demo days. Texans and everyone else who will be in Texas come out to that for sure! Good times to be had and my lifeline chipotle is catering it.

Lil Bit is my cat name. I am sorry i took that photo down but i felt like people may think I was pushing the envelope a little to hard with that one. Here is a photo of me in a more appropriate cat outfit that I bought yesterday at JC Penny. Sorry Reed and Bear but i need to start riding again before i can have photos like that coming out of myself, people are going to think I have really let myself go.
