Camera Test Tuesday

A few months ago I borrowed a super 16mm camera with a water housing and a fisheye lens that I was interested in buying. Ocala resident and underwater filmmaker, Jordy Kline let me give the camera a test to see if I liked it. My first chance to test the camera was in Texas. Usually you do a number of things testing the camera before you shoot anything important but I decided to just bring the camera along and shoot some random stuff in the Lonestar State when I wasn’t shooting stills. Even Ben and Andy shot some of this footage. The only thing I didn’t like about the camera was the lens. It didn’t cover the full super 16mm frame (you’ll notice a black vignette on the right side of the frame) and it wasn’t always sharp. Most of the shots were frustratingly “soft” and were complete garbage so I wasn’t able to get too much footy. Other than that I now have a new camera and I’ll be taking it with me in and around the water. Check out the latest issue of WBM to see the story on our winching trip out to Texas that featured Aaron Reed, Danny Hampson, Ben Horan, Andy Pastura, and Gabe Lucas. Oh and sorry for the lack of riding in advance, I can promise some good wall ride shots filmed by Ben of Andy though. There is also a solid hero shot of Ben. Everyone loves a solid hero shot of Ben.

Bryan, that footage was amazing and full of character! Don’t apologize for a lack of riding…

That was good stuff. It flowed well and gave a good feeling throughout the piece, which is what a film is suppose to do. Good work.
